For day 3 of their seminar, the Art & Architecture students went to the Monastery of Pedralbes to learn about monastic life in the Catalán-Aragonese monarchy of the late Middle Ages. They discovered the values and daily habits of the nuns, while enjoying the cloister’s peace, quiet, and fragrant herb garden.
On the metro ride home, they enjoyed the AC while writing reflections on their experiences. For Day 3 of their seminar, the Spanish Language group went to the Picasso Museum in El Born and continued expanding their vocabulary and use of verb tenses. In the afternoon, we united as a full group to take a catamaran out in the beautiful Mediterranean. After Business instructor Ravi did some talking, we even got to jump in the water.
We enjoyed skyline views of Barcelona from a different perspective. When we headed back to the RESA, we were in the mood for a little bit of dancing! The Toro dinner group headed out for their first meal all together. ¡Olé!On Day 4, the Spanish seminar visited Els Encants, the largest flea market in Catalunya. Students practiced their bargaining skills in Spanish and interacted with locals.
Ironically, the photo class did not have any photos to share from these past couple of days, but here’s a re-cap of how they spent their time: yesterday, the group toured the foto colectania’s exhibit “how to get lost in a world of images” and then took photographs in the Parc de Ciutadella. Today, they learned how to process and edit photos in Lightroom and photoshop, and then learned about the concept of the decisive moment in photography while viewing images by photographer Henri Cartier Bresson.
Some of our Photography students are also seriously talented at drawing! After a full day of seminars and afternoon activities, the Fútbol dinner group couldn’t resist a ride on the Barceloneta ferris wheel.
So far, this trip has had no shortage of beautiful views. ¡Hasta mañana!
