Excursion to the Pyrenees

On Saturday morning, students got up bright and early to board a chartered bus to the Pyrenees town La Pobla de Llilet. There, after a quick visit to a cafe and bakery, we boarded a train that took us to the Jardins Artigas, gardens designed by Antoni Gaudí, and later to the Museu de Ciment (a museum detailing the cement factory Asland).

Afterward, we continued on to Castellar De N’Hug where we got to know the town with the help of a local guide, had lunch at a traditional Catalan restaurant, and enjoyed a hike through the Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró. In the evening, after checking into our hotel and having dinner, students were able to meet some of the members of a youth handball team that was also staying at the hotel.

On Sunday morning, many students participated in a canyoning activity while others explored the town and swam at the local pool. We returned to Barcelona after lunch and took it easy with small group dinners and a night-in.
